Arrive in Gareji and start walking up to explore Lavra cave monastery founded in the 6th century. The Lavra monastery is an inhabited complex of caves with a courtyard, church and other buildings.
Continue to Sighnaghi, the city of love , surrounded by defensive walls with 23 towers. If time permits, stop en-route at Bodbe convent, which according to the legend is burial place of St.Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity at 4th century.

David Gareji is a rock-caved Georgian Orthodox Monastery complex on the half-desert slopes of Mount Gareja, some 60-70 km southeast of Tbilisi, on the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan. The complex includes hundreds of cells, churches, chapels, refectories and living quarters hollowed out of the rock face. The monastery is still active and visitors should dress appropriately.
Sighnaghi is the prettiest town in Kakheti, located on a hilltop in 115 km away east from Tbilisi and full of XVIII and XIX century architecture. Georgians call it the city of love. The city is recently renovated and makes an unforgettable impression on visitors. Here in Sighnaghi you will visit the tasting room of the wine factory and taste different sorts of famous Georgian wine.
